Leave Pakistan to Pakistan.

So Pakistan has finally admitted to terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. What is new. We need no proof. This is the handiwork of a very seasoned terror group. Pakistan is not just India’s headache but the world’s cancer. Every single terror attack in Europe or America or India can be traced back to Pakistan. That is their beauty. Pakistan is a synthetically created nation on the basis of religion. Its not that they are this after 75 years since independence from the British. It is just that they are chemically made like this – that population of the region with their ‘culture.’ Nearly every invader in history had had a party with their women – from Arabs to Persians and Turks and Mongols and Afghans. Truly a nation totally torn up from the insides. To me, this is the reason why Af-Pak is like this. They are sick. Made sick by history. Sometimes you feel bad for them, for the way they have turned out. NEGATIVE CHARACTER. Pahalgam had to happen. That is what keeps them ticking. That is their psychology. That is how Pakistan survives. This is what keeps them as a nation.

India in response annulled the Indus Water Treaty and already some 80% water to Pakistan (as per Republic tv) is stopped. Pakistan is in crisis and we all know that. As usual our Arnab Goswami is having the time of his life with his 24 hour news and interviews with Pakistanis who he seldom allows to speak. Why invite them and then start the shouting match. How do the guests even consent to have debate with him beats me. At one point, Arnab shouted, ‘you are gadha, you are all gadha’ and the Pakistanis could not even open their mouth in protest. So Indian attack on Pakistan is imminent. If it has to happen, let it happen. Arnab, do you know how cruel and sadistic it is to daily keep rubbing salt in someone’s wound. Good and bad are everywhere. Even among Pakistanis, there could be many who don’t agree with their army or don’t support terrorism. Their masses are highly illiterate and are misled. Their daily life itself is a struggle for survival. Even to our enemies and worst adversaries, we can be kind and decent instead of stamping on their dignity so heartlessly. War mongering is even worse. We Indians can wish for an all out war as reflex. That is natural. But we cannot be parroting it day in and day out. Even our government may shelve their plans who knows. Its highly irresponsible to sensationalize the war situation and whip such a frenzy into the minds of the public. See one thing we can be clear about: DHARMA DOES NOT NEED A CRUSADE. If it has to survive, it WILL survive against all odds. If it has to go extinct, you can do nothing about it. And sometimes, even extinction can be good and honourable exit than mass-reproduce like broiler chicken or the milch cattle to be culled without a second thought. Any community that is going to dominate earth in the last leg of the planet’s life will eventually suffer that miserable fate which is unavoidable. As a strong believer in Dharma, I believe that nature will balance itself and dharma will restore the equilibrium by itself.

If government wants action, let them act. Let us not urge or put pressure on our government to take drastic action against anyone. Even if we are justified in avenging Pakistan, we still have to remember our own soldiers, the armed forces who are going to go into this action in full knowledge that they may return home in coffins. What about their families. Its not just about Pakistan. Its about our own armed forces. If our government still wants to teach Pakistan a lesson, then let them take their own time. Imagine the mental torture innocent family people in Pakistan have to face everyday listening to someone like Arnab. They know their nation’s destiny without us Indians rubbing the fact into them. Even before Pahalgam, their economy started nosediving. Their power and water problems, we in India are aware of.

India is a blessed country with her bountiful rainfall, fertile soil, native culture and abundance in about everything. Very few countries on earth are as blessed as we are even if the world calls us a third world country. Let Pakistan be Pakistan, let us be us. I too wanted to avenge Pakistan for one or two days. Then I cooled down. None of my friends who have booked their Kashmir tours are going to cancel their holidays. Already tourists are swarming the same terror scene at Pahalgam. After my rage subsided, I found myself forgiving even the worst violent bloody terrorists, because that is what my heart is capable of.

As for Americans asking India to show restraint, I am asking this question: So if America bleeds it is blood but if Hindu India bleeds, is it tomato ketchup for you guys? You could have shown some restraint in Afghanistan. You could have shown restraint in Vietnam to Iraq to Libya to wherever. India is the only Hindu culture in the world. We have every right to defend ourselves against terrorists.

Having said that, entire country called Pakistan is NEGATIVE ENERGY, nothing more. Not even contemplating them is in our own best interests. Blackness or black entities always look for the light. Pakistan’s obsession with India is for this reason. Forever condemned to live under India’s shadows, not able to write history textbooks without mentioning India, imagine their desperation. Darkness tries to gain foothold in the light which is universal truth. Pakistan is retro and decades behind India. India for all her third world status is already the 4th largest economy in the world soon to become the third. In 20-30 years, Indian economy is expected to surpass the US’s. We are on the right path. Let us focus ahead instead of on detractors like Pakistan. Pakistan will implode from within and needs no help from India on this one.

There is simply no contest between India and Pakistan because we are not on level playing grounds. Pakistan does not even exist for most of us, especially down south. NOBODY CARES. In the middle east, Pakistanis mean taxi drivers and truck drivers and camel drivers. That is their level. Even for comparing ourselves with others, they must match us somewhere. Pakistan belongs with Afghanistan, Bangladesh etc. Much ado about nothing. Still if my government wants to squish them, so be it. I won’t enjoy that but I will know that Dharma is restoring balance, that’s all. For me, nothing happens without the will of God. She, Mother Goddess, the Supreme Mother scripts the story. Its all Maya. And if She wants Pakistan done to dust sooner or later, no force on earth can stop it. See where She has led them from 1947 onward. Hinglaj Mata Ki Jai! Jai Mata ji!

Terrorists handpick HINDUS to shoot them dead in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

Updated: 24th April

BBC is Paki mouthpiece.

***************************************

Pahalgam witnessed one of the bloodiest terror attacks in Kashmir in over nearly a decade after Pulwama. Twenty six tourists from all over India were shot dead on vertification that they were Hindus. In an interview in media I saw of the wife of a businessman shot dead, she says the terrorists told her ‘to go tell Modi.’ Another newly wed young woman had lost her husband right in front on her eyes. Married on April 16th and on honeymoon. More than that, it is difficult to take for me.

Over years, many of my friends have been vacationing in Kashmir with family that is said to be returning to normal. As summer hots up interior India, families are already finding cooler vacation spots. Kashmir is No.1 choice for many. Tourism has returned to the terror torn state with a bang. Kashmir was in cards for us too. Now a decade of hardwork by Kashmir tour operators has been done to dust. Those who vacation in summer months in Kashmir already are playing steep prices for their resorts and tour packages. So who have been shot dead in Pahalgam must be coming from affluent families. From Kerala to Karnataka and Kanpur and even Nepal and Kolkata, the casualties are from all around India. HANDPICKED HINDUS who were even asked to strip to verify religion before being shot dead at point blank range. Massacred for the only reason of being Hindu. What a nightmare their dream holiday turned out to be.

Needless to point out who is behind the terror attacks. The digital footprint leads all the way across the border to Pakistan. India won’t leave Pakistan unavenged. World leaders have condemned the terror attacks. What is India waiting for. Pakistan is a hopeless country. Even their women were arrested by Spain recently for their involvement in terror activities. Wherever these people permeate, that society will be in tatters soon. Just remember the grooming gangs of UK. Canada is infested with Paki ideology. BBC etc., have been taken over Pakis. They can get anyone banned. They can post their opinion as headlines. They have taken over the broadcasting stations and media in the UK and probably Canada.

Even in India there was a report as to how the ‘peaceful’ community were readying batches of law school aspirants with the sole aim of making them judges someday, to rule judiciary in near future to pass favourable judgments and rewrite laws. India is fighting a multipronged war machine.

I was reading with every sunrise this leading Pak newspaper online regularly. I was surprised to find that one by one their journalists were sent to Washington University for research papers (whatever)? Unless this was reward for them from their spy agency, as a bargain with sponsors like USAID, this couldn’t be happening. Although I never knew of USAID then, I thought probably the Pak spy agency had an understanding with the US govt. My mind just said that this was not normal. Given their shoddy journalism! There is nobody or nothing in Pakistan that is not terror linked. I want to know whether Indian journalists or journalists from other nations receive this kind of academic favours from America. This is why US crackdown on universities on terror elements or terror ideology is welcome. America needs to cleanse campuses of this kind of toxic agents to prevent terror taking roots right in the US soil. This one observation of mine as a casual browser can throw some light on how spies and terror ideology may have infiltrated into every sphere of life in not only Pakistan but also in international academic scene.

The last two cases I mentioned are passive versions of terror that can still leave devastating impact on society. The second tactic is ONLY TO BREED PSEUDO INTELLECTUALS TO PLANT FALSE NARRATIVES. Tool kit journos in the garb of academicians. However this is my personal assumption/deduction. For brainwashing the world intelligentsia, I guess the Pak spy agency is getting even their media journalists trained to do the job. Imagine this kind of influencers in charge of media in UK, Canada, etc., and even the US. Propaganda machinery. That is what the Pak spy agency is trying to make out of their journalists and academicians.

Now we have US weeding out their campuses of terror sympathizers which is an excellent move. Exactly I was thinking about the Pak journalists spying for their nation even in American soil!

I am just writing here what comes to my mind. I could be wrong. But my intuitions says this is how things pan out.

Turbulence in my mind: Whenever things like this happens, my equilibrium gets somehow disturbed. Not that I take things so personally. But something goes amiss. Not a great day for me, today. Acts of violence and visuals can numb you I guess. Felt low and closed my kitchen and puja that I rarely do. Ate out my lunch. To that extent I guess this seems to affect me even though I can’t believe this reaction can be possible at all from me sitting here thousands of miles away and watching what is going on in my dear Hindu nation. See the timing: right during US VP Vance’s visit and when our PM Modi had flown out to Saudi on two day visit.

Meanwhile India WILL strike back. From what I have written down and believe in, the idea of terror seems to be deeply entrenched in Pak society at all levels. We have a very complicated scenario here. Pakistan must be isolated completely with sanctions imposed heavily on them. When will the US wake up. Can Obamas explain why Pak journalists turned into research fellows in DC univ? Who were the sponsors.

I think even Indian media may have missed out on this. Soft terror is even more dangerous. This can corrupt, pollute the public mindset.

******************************

After Mumbai 26/11, with India holding Pakistan terrorist involved in the massacre, we had every reason to take out Lahore or Karachi totally. But the ‘nalayak’ Congress govt developed cold feet. However Modi govt is a different story. Expecting swift justice. And this time Pakistan should not be able to get up for a long, long time from the deathly blow.

Had the Pakistani terrorist Kasab not been caught redhanded in Mumbai 26/11, not only Pakistan media but even those of Indian media like the Hindu (Hindu by name only, in reality Hallelujah Mullah) , Congress and especially the BBC would have called it an inside job squarely holding BJP/RSS responsible. The toolkit like the DC research fellow journos of Pakistan could have even succeeded in convincing the world with their conspiracy theory.

Karma Calling: China

During Covid, I did wait for China to apologize to the world at large for the damage the Wuhan virus did to every single nation on earth, from loss of precious human lives to the national economies coming to a complete standstill. That is what a nation with a CONSCIOUSNESS would have done. How many billion, trillion dollar worth of productivity was lost because of the virus that emanated from China. The kind of tragedy that we witnessed we cannot forget for a lifetime. I was in India with my husband caught up in middle east. We did not see each other for over one year. How many families got divided in this period. People went in clusters, in bunches like a bunch of grapes. In Chennai alone how many even medicos lost their lives. Bodies were given mass cremation. In modern world history, after the second world war, the covid must be the greatest pandemic/global event to register this kind of monumental loss in every sphere. Yet there was not one word of regret from China in the media. Theirs is an affluent economy. But how did they compensate the weaker vulnerable nations that got afflicted worse. The smaller nations were totally crushed. Their economic machinery ground to a complete halt overnight. The poorest who lost their daily bread suffered the most. No society was spared. But did the Chinese PM even once get on to the world stage to a single ‘sorry.’ I am not sure whether I am the only one to nurture such a sentiment.

Over the decades, China has completely destroyed many many economies especially the smaller, poorer, vulnerable ones, plying them with their cheap plastics. The disposable culture is now prevalent in the world thanks to mass chinese productions. Local factories and cottage industries shut shop wherever the chinese goods entered the market. Jobs were lost in millions. China even bombarded India with cheap plastic Lord Ganeshas and took over our Diwali with their fancy fireworks. Indian industry suffered all around inspite of Indian government putting in place a protection policy to safeguard the economy from the relentless Chinese invasion. One can imagine what could have happened to vulnerable small nations with fragile economy. SOLD OUT TO CHINA virtually with surrendering their natural resources such as harbours/ports, precious minerals and metals and mines, airspace, water, etc., etc. Many African and Asian countries continue to be neck deep in debt to China. Modern day Shylock. Just ask the Sri Lankans. Or even the Pakistanis who are quietly applying balm to their economic wounds from the chinese stabbings.

In the social media, the chinese fought a shadow war with us Indians everyday almost, ridiculing us for our sluggish growth. Through all these years, it looks like the chinese were focused on LIVING FOR AMERICA AND WORKING FOR AMERICA, not for themselves really. Whereas we have kind of self-sufficient economy in India. We can do without exports completely if it comes to that. Still we can survive. China had to erase Tiananmen square from the public memory. They have generations now who know nothing about the historic event. This is how China functions. India is a time tested democracy of 1.4 billion plus and counting. Just let China hold her first democratic elections and see what happens. You will have 100 pieces of China overnight. Already the joblessness must be stirring the masses into restlessness. What kind of skill is theirs? Repetitive job that can get the population nowhere if laid off.

India is the spiritual capital of the world. The kind of materialism you see in US and China, India will NOT even aspire of. Our ways and goals are different.

Although I was surprised by the chinese’ sense of humour when they flooded the social media with their MAGA memes, I must admit that what they said therein may also be ironically true. But not something that cannot be changed. Americans became fat and lazy probably because of losing their work culture to China. They can change but that can take time. Its still the best to happen to America, although they could have enforced the tariffs by phases. America is world’s No.1 economy and therefore the world expects the US to be a little more responsible. Implementation of tariffs could have been in stages and in dollops gradually increasing over years. Sudden deathly blow of very high tariffs and the ego war between world leaders seem to crush the weaker nations with even the mighty China not spared, as we can see. I still think about the chinese factory workers. What do the innocent middle class folks have to do with all this powerplay?

Then there is the question of India becoming dumping grounds for the tonnes of goods meant for export to US, piling in chinese ports. Modi governments needs to be extra vigilant and keep away the chinese manufacturers trying to gain a foothold into India through backdoor diplomacy. Next to America, only India can absorb that volume of useless cheap chinese production. Give them a toe hold – and then down the shutters on Indian industry for good.

Can status quo be restored? Precious trust has been lost between America and China. China has learnt a valuable lesson from the US. Once bitten, twice shy. They will have to reprogram their economy completely after this unforeseen disaster. The next time may they build a viable economy that is self-focused.

How the chinese mocked our PM Modi for flying to the US to meet president Trump without an invite. Even I was kind of irked when I saw my PM swallow his pride in front of the whole world. It hurt us deeply when social media made us a laughing stock. Now we get it that, its more important to take care of OURSELVES, our masses and our average factory workers and peasants and valuable exporters than boosting our national ego. Vishwaguru for a reason! As PM Modi was greeted and escorted by Saudi airforce planes as his aircraft reached their airspace this evening, and as the US VP Vance spoke in the business forum in Jaipur at the same time, after months of chaos, finally we can see some clarity emerge. Modi and Jaishankar are an awesome team. This is what we call Chanakya Tantra. Rare wisdom. Its prudent to choose our battles – what to fight and what not to fight. We can change any situation into ‘win-win.’

Chanakya in Artha Shastra said, before the birth of Christ, that we have to use the political tools of Sama, Dhana, Bedha, Dhanda when it comes to diplomacy. Same is making a treaty or friendly pact with the aggressor. Dhana is giving up something for the mutual benefit. Bedha is using a discriminatory policy to achieve a result. The last resort is to punish or wage a war. Hindus avoid the last option always.

What about China. Useless war inflicted on hapless unprepared India in 1961 with Indian territory illegally occupied by China even today. India was taken by surprise because this came just months after the Mao’s visit to India. Even my granny used to say that, when Nehru presented him with a gold finger ring with India map, he said, ‘now India is in my hands.’ Tell me now China, what is betrayal of trust? China with India in 1961 or America with China in 2025? India secured UN security council seat for China but it is China that now prevents us from getting in there. The China occupation of dharmic country Tibet is history. China joined hands with Pakistan arming their terrorists to teeth to fight a proxy war with us in our borders. Nonstop headache is China. President Trump may consider this: having China as your next door neighbour. That is what India is suffering from. Imagine having China and Pakistan for neighbour. You are lucky to have Mexico and Canada as neighbours. Please be kind to them! And now we have this same China begging India to become their ally , issuing 85,000 visas to Indian tourists to go shopping in Beijing. (Given a chance, I may hahaha. What to do, our husbands are kanjoos.)

China will have to do a lot of restructuring and reorganizing from the insides. My heart still goes out to their masses. Lives ruined. But world just has had a covid. I am sure that experience can help China overcome this crisis. Building skyscrapers and highways that are not needed is not essentially growth. Sometimes slow and steady growth can be healthy in the long run. It can make you less dependent on others. But China must have an enormous surplus. They must be able to come out of this situation. Barring exports, China is doing great in other sectors. America is only the icing on the cake. Extra something.

A nation’s wealth lies in their culture and heritage. Even if the democrats may return to power tomorrow after Trump, neither China nor America are going to like to be in this spot ever again in future. America will start becoming an industrial nation once again with local productions, and China may start slowing down and build an economy (based on local consumption and demand mostly) (they already have that and are self sustaining). America may take its own sweet time but I got the feeling there that they are serious this time. They want their jobs back. This is why India is a nation of idlis and samosas and biriyanis and Ganga aarti and temples and satsangs and gurus and ashrams first. This is enough. What we have is enough. We are happy. We don’t have to become the next China. I am a Hindu housewife who never worked in an office from my 27th year. I enjoy life and I spend 2-3 hours everyday in puja/meditation. Can you imagine a chinese woman doing that. This is how and why are different. Invite the chinese to visit the hundreds of thousands of temples throughout the length and breadth of India where masses spend hours. That shall show them how India is growing holistically than materialistically.

What is this race for? Who wants to reach the Mars first? I was reading this from someone who is a local who stated that in last 17 years, he managed a mantra japa chanting to a Hindu deity to the tune of 51 crores. Of course he is an astral traveler. India has thousands of yogis that way who casually travel out of their bodies to the multiverse. You are comparing this punya Hindu bhoomi to mechanical robotic China that has no soul? Well, quantum physics… Hindu Spirituality begins where quantum physics ENDS. Period.

Finally my concern is about the Outlet Malls in American cities that are my favourite shopping places! I don’t shop much -not easy to shop under the unwavering gaze of an Indian husband who counts every penny! Still I manage to do a little every year and I love their Outlet Malls the most for their stunning range and brands and best prices. Now I am wondering whether there will any outlet Mall left surviving at all in the US in future.

Having said that, equations can change overnight. But something invaluable between China and the US seems to have been broken. Will China trust America ever again. Can America survive without China at all?

DEAR CHINA. DEAL WITH AMERICA DIRECTLY. LEAVE US INDIANS OUT OF THIS MADNESS. PLEASE KEEP YOUR FACTORY GOODS AND WE DON’T WANT THEM IN INDIA. DO NOT DUMP CHEAP CHINESE MAKE IN INDIAN MARKETS. THANK YOU.

Appetizing African Food!

Huge fan of Ethiopian cuisine here. Every time I go to the US I don’t miss eating out at Ethiopian restaurants. Curious, interesting menu on cards. Food is amazingly similar to south Indian, nutritious, sumptuous, yum, and so laboriously prepared. Value for money, no junk food. Highly recommended.

Simply love their Injera breads that are fermented to heavenly perfection. Made of maize flour, the staple African foodgrain? After almost 2 months in the US that’s what I desperately needed ! I chose the Ethiopian restaurant over Indian which is very expensive. Injera reminds one of dosa. The Shiro or the red chutney is typically like what we call ‘thokku’ or ‘thogaiyal’ in Tamil . In reality it is lentil chutney made spicy. What we call ‘paruppu thogaiyal.’ The spinach, the mixed veggies everything tastes like Indian. Spice level is left to your choice. Ethiopian food is so original, flavourful, seasoned with native spices, and is very affordable. Healthy as well. I opted for vegetarian fare but family had meat which they said was too good. I have eaten at a few more African restaurants that I don’t remember much about. I can only recall that every single one of them was GOOD. Authentic African recipes, sometimes simple (like their bread) and sometimes elaborate cooking very much like our Indian curry. Delicious. NEVER MISS THE EHTIOPIAN TEA POT! Runaway hit! However don’t expect the KFC McDonald Pizza hut Coke Pepsi culture to understand anything substantial, deep and meaningful in the real sense.

A dozen Ganeshas of various sizes greeted me in a 100% vegetarian Mexican restaurant. In most Mexican restaurants I find Lord Ganesha idols everywhere. Food was great here too. I really don’t care for the names of the dishes. I left the ordering to my family and only made sure that everything was indeed only vegetarian.

I come from a culture that is 10000 years old at least. We are the only unbroken continuous surviving civilization in the world. All around us the Mayan, the Greek, the Egyptian, the Mesopotamian all floundered. Only Hindu civilization survives to this 21st century and will survive to eternity. We appreciate and respect the goodness and uniqueness in every culture. That is how we grow as civilized humans. Beautiful Africa and Africans. African cuisine differs from border to border. Signature menus. The choice of breads and the accompaniments give one an idea about the healthy lifestyle of their local culture. Even the art on display in the restaurant served as a treat to our tired eyes.

MS Amma Bhajan in the UN in 1966 is what the world needs to play in loop.

MS Subbulakshmi is my heart’s favourite. Nightingale of Indian classical. This is from her concert in the UN in the year 1966 with subtitles. The composition is in Sanskrit composed by none other than the Paramacharya of Kanchi Mutt himself. Just listen and keep playing this in loop. It makes so much sense even today. Especially today. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. No intention of copyright violation. Just wanted to share this beautiful rendering here in my blog because I have some impressive following! Om Shanthi Shanthi Shanthi Hi. We came with NOTHING. We are going to take back NOTHING. And NO MEMORY of this present life to our next birth.

India passes Waqf Bill & Immigration Bill.

Meanwhile Indian parliament passed two very important bills that can have relevance to the present and future viz., the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025, regarding the estate owned by Muslim bodies/board and Immigration & foreigners bill to check infiltration of illegal Bangladeshi muslim immigrants into India.

The Waqf Amendment Act 2025 and the Immigration and Foreigners’ Act 2025 are now in enforcement.

Imagine a Hindu majority nation like India where the Waqf, the muslim board is the No.1 real estate owner. The correction of the historical injustice has long since been overdue. The second largest real estate owner India is the church. Let us come to that next.

https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/parliament-budget-session-waqf-amendment-bill-lok-sabha-rajya-sabha-live-updates-april-2-2025/article69402498.ece

Why is the Waqf Amendment bill important?

Still better Waqf is abrogated. Ancient Hindu lands must be returned to government/ Hindus. This is mafia. CBI must look into entire ECR in Chennai for ownership titles in last 20 years.

Hate to quote the BBC …

The Immigration and Foreigners’ Bill, 2025 got passed in Lok Sabha as well.

The small and big of the things in the world.

What an inspiring speech by the Singapore PM on tariffs imposed by the US! One could be smaller in stature but tall and imposing when it comes to honour, dignity and shame. How should a head of a state be at all. Class is character. Elegance is the grace of our soul. How reassuring this great man sounds to his abject population. This tiny independent nation stands to lose a lot because of reciprocal tariffs. But remember, we live in a world where the west condemned India for manufacturing and distributing Covid vaccine for free to third world African and Asian countries, because it impacted the sales pitch of their pharma industries. This is also why India cannot be the next China or America ever in history. We are a nation guided by our Dharmic values NOT CHRISTIAN. You do WHAT IS RIGHT WHATSOEVER.

As for Singapore, they buy even their water from their neighbour Malaysia. They have a sound economy and are a center for academics and medical sciences and technology. A peaceful model nation from who advanced first world countries can learn a lesson. Singapore also faces the immigrants issue. A multi cultural secular society, I would hate to see Singapore suffer.

Larger nations like India have a moral responsibility toward smaller unstable nations who have a heightened sense of insecurity about their very existence because of the limited extent of their geographical territory and overt dependence on foreign trade. Until the very recent Bangladesh turmoil, millions of Bangladeshi muslims received free or very subsidized medical treatment in any corner of India they chose to, a concession not even extended to fellow Indians. This included critical care for heart disease, cancer and even organ transplants and eye treatment. India has supported and keeps supporting Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Maldives – because that is what a big brother does. Magnanimity is what must be the character of an elder brother. Generous is how he must be toward even his wayward younger brothers. You lead head and shoulders over them with your solid character, motivating them, inspiring them. We could be a poor nation ourselves but that never stops India from lending a helping hand to the weaker vulnerable countries.

America does what it is best for them ECONOMICALLY. The price that America pays will be in terms of UNIVERSAL GOODWILL. America also forgets that, as Singapore PM says, things are fluid by nature, which means it won’t take a minute for the Democrats to restore things to how they used to be. When a government flouts or changes laws or challenges judges, they are setting a precedent for future governments to follow in their footsteps.

Falkland Islands get slapped with 42% tariffs by the US. Now this is a very small island country of mere 4000 residents where fishing accounts for 60% of the local income. Marine exports to America constitute their chief source of income. Steep tariffs have been imposed on African nations as well, Lesotho taking the worst hit.

India may suffer a loss of income to the tune of 15$ to 35$ billion which we do have the capacity to bear. India has trade surplus with the US as our exports amount to about 80$ billion. The lowering of tariffs in India can make our own local manufacturing more competitive. My nation is colossal! Mammoth! We are 1.4 billion. We can take any shock or jolt and we can survive and outlive anything and everything! Nothing can unsettle us or rattle us. We are battle hardened, scarred, and very rooted country with ancient history and vibrant local economy. Even so, I admire the negotiating skills of my PM and foreign minister. Do not underestimate them. They are merely playing along, doing their best in the circumstances.

Its not that America is not feeling the pinch either. Their markets have reportedly skimmed a neat 6.5 $trillion already since the tariffs were announced. Mumbai’s Sensex shed around 3000 points the following morning. But India’s loss once again compared to other world nations was less alarming.

America is pushing consumers around the world to become more discerning and not choosing American imports as it is seen happening already in the European countries and Canada. Finally, is this all worth it. Will America’s gains outweigh their losses in the long run? Time will have the best answer.

Epic Missing Out On Bernie Sanders

I may blog a lot of political stuff but I am NO POLITICAL PERSON. But if I could carry one political regret to my grave, it might be that of missing Bernie Sanders right down our street, in Tucson. Tuscon is rare blue in the otherwise red Arizona. Heart asked me to go, but common sense prevailed and mind said a BIG NO. ITS NOT MY BATTLE. ITS NOT MY COUNTRY. I hold huge respects for this wise old man in any case. Under different circumstances, this must have been possible. I realized the magnitude of what I missed only when people (on my return) were astonished that I gave the meeting a miss. Some 23,000 strong crowd had gathered to listen to this wonderful gentleman. I was anyway just a guest in the US. A visitor. Not a political person at all. I don’t attend any political meetings even in India and I am member of no political party. I deliberately gave a miss of even our PM Shri Modi’s gathering here in Doha where access to him could have been easier. Many went to listen to his speech from a stadium. I am just a tax paying, law abiding Indian citizen from middle class, that’s all, who blogs for pastime. Nothing to write home about. A simple housewife, a grandma. But I did listen to Bernie a little bit on You tube. No comments except that, his profound wisdom does touch my heart. My eyes almost became moist when I registered that decency of the soul is the most elegant way of life.

I can think of quite a few journos who would have loved to exchange places with me that day!

Mufasa: the lion king.

Watched the super animation flick during the 14 hour nonstop from the US to Doha as a lone traveler. It drew the attention of my next seat neighbour who gave me unbelieving looks! Well, I love children’s pictures. Loved watching ‘flow’ and ‘frozen’ with my granddaughter. Wanted to watch Moana too but my granddaughter is scared of Moana’s dad so said a big ‘NO.’ However the 3.5 year old can croon to most songs especially the Moana one (along with the Frozen) and I love watching the video of this sweet song that has captured my little one’s heart! Thanks to her I am getting aware of latest children’s pictures to which I am getting addicted! Leaving out the Lord of Rings and Harry Potter, I watch the rest made for kids. My son grew up watching Lion King with us parents who were also mesmerized by the Bug life etc., over 25 years back. Now its my granddaughter’s turn to lure me into amazing pictures made for kids! I loved the Frozen. The Flow, runaway academy award winner over Disney’s colossal blockbusters, rooted me to the couch in amazement. Never watched anything like that before. And you have to watch it with a toddler or a kid under 5! Missed Mufasa that my granddaughter watched in the cinemas with her dad. Thank god, I caught up with Mufasa on the flight! Loved every minute of that. The prequel was not only justifying, it was equally captivating. That it did not end up as disappointment, rather proved to be so enthralling is wonderful. Mufasa, Sarabi, Simba are part of all our families! Moana 2 was also there for in the selection in the flight menu that I gave a miss. Waiting to watch Moana 1 with my granddaughter first next year!

how my 3.5 yr granddaughter sings Moana! she made this my favourite one too!
