CM Joseph Vijay’s Mookambika temple visit.

I never watched any of films sorry! May be I did one or two like Gilly and then Vaathi. Not sure if I saw from titles to end. Always viewed Vijay as overacting fellow and as someone who came up from filmy background. But I don’t think you can achieve so much with just luck or your background. Unless you have stuff, you cannot simply reach this level – of course there must also be the Divine Grace. No wonder Vijay visited Tiruchendur to pay his obeissance to Lord Muruga (Skandha) the warrior son of Lord Shiva soon on getting elected as the CM of Tamil Nadu. He visited the Shirdi Sai Baba;s shrine in Maharashtra as well. Thirdly I am surprised about his Mookambika temple visit. I don’t think its just a political visit for praying for power. Mookambika is the reason for artists prospering – be it in music or other performing arts. Preschool children are given ‘asksharaabhyas’ (introduction to alphabets) in the temple in front of the Saraswathi deity, the Goddess for education/wisdom/knowledge. Without the divine grace of Ma Mookambika, Vijay could not have been shining as leading hero of Tamil film industry for 2 decades now. His mother, a Hindu, is also a classically trained vocalist giving stage performances. Mookambika is the reason he has peaked twice in life – in both his acting career as superstar and now as Tamil Nadu chief minister. Earlier the former CMs of Tamil Nadu M G Ramachandran and Jayalalitha Jayaram followed the same steps and they too had offered their obeissances to Ma Mookambika of Kollur.

But unlike MGR and JJ, Vijay is christian. Channel surfing, I came across his film that was playing in one of the tv channels. It was ‘Nilave va’ probably made over 20 years ago. In this the heroine is Subalakshmi. Hero is our Vijay. His name is ‘Siluvai’ (cross of the Christ). In one scene the Hindu heroine says,’I am ready to be estranged from my parents, my family to convert and marry the christian Siluvai (Vijay).’ That made me wonder whether Vijay had masterminded his entire career for political gains at a later stage. How did even the censor board allow this dialogue which has got nothing to do with individual freedom. We have had many pictures showcasing inter-religious marriages at national and regional levels. In ‘Alaigal Oivadhillai’ by Bharathi Raja showing Hindu-christian love marriage, there is never the question of conversion arising. In the picture ‘Bombay’ of Mani Ratnam, there is never the question of conversion discussed as both the hero and heroine retain their faiths of birth and bring up neutral kids (with no religious identity attached to them). I even wondered why Joseph Vijay did not use his full name for his acting career. For years, he was presumed to be a hindu only by the masses. His christian identity came out very late after he had made huge fan crowds.

However all this is in past. I am willing to still give him the benefit of doubt. I hope CM Joseph Vijay will NOT be emboldening the christian missionary mafia operating in the state bribing and coercing the poorest and most vulnerable in the society to convert.

Hindu temples that have stood for thousands of years in the face of invasions house powerful deities. But if anyone enters the precincts of the same shrines with mal intensions, our deities won’t hesitate to take out their wrath on the erring persons.

Ma Mookambika is also my ishta devta, introduced to me by my biological mother. She is in my everyday prayer. I get strongest vibes from Her and I chant Her mantras. I have been doing Diya puja for Her for over a quarter century now – bi weekly.

So far Vijay’s intentions seem good. I don’t care whether he is hindu or christian or muslim. So long as he is decent and free of corruption, I shall support him. Most importantly he must not harm Hindu interests. This is the native soil of us Hindus. Lets wait and watch. When Hindus want even a Hindu president for America, why cannot they tolerate a christian for a CM. But then, Hindus never try to CONVERT. In Hindu dharma, you can be a hindu only if you CHOOSE to. CONVERSION is NOT encouraged. Soul harvesting for numbers is for christians who sell Jesus like Harpic and Carefree door to door. To those from west who embrace Sanatana Dharma, it is a conscious choice on realization.

Om Shri Matre Namaha. May good things happen. Ma Mookambika routed out DMK no doubt. Can’t wait to see our sister Kanimozhi in black burqa along with Durga Stalin in black burka leaving Hinduism. Our Hindu brothers must make it possible for us to EXPEL THE DMK GOONS FROM HINDUISM. Strip them of Hindu identity. Unfortunately we don’t have something like Mecca or Vatican or Quran or Bible to lay down rules in Hinduism. Hindu Dharma is way of life. You don’t convert. You don’t excommunicate. Either you are born a Hindu or you make a conscious choice and become a Hindu (simply no coercion or bribe).
